Spoilers ahead!
finished:
- guy montgomery's guy-mont spelling bee s2
- roselia bloom of the rose (season 1 story 1)
- roselia neo-aspect (season 1 story 2) ok somehow i didn't realise i should've probably read a couple of event stories that happened in between but that's ok. i like that this story was focused on them Becoming Roselia rather than simply being a part of a band that helps them along their own individual goals.
- lisa imai's about me episodes (1-3)
- the hundred years' war on palestine good and important read. (not related to the book's contents) but unfortunately reminded me that i really need to have the will and ability to read a book in 3 weeks (which i do not have) to borrow it from the library.
- hello, happy world! smiles to the world! hello, happy union! (season 1 story 1)
- roselia a song unfinished (season 1 event story) yukina's dad surprisingly more chill about music and all than i thought since in the first band story i feel like they implied that it was a very touchy subject. but also lisa comments on how yukina's dad can't say things out loud like his daughter so maybe there's that (less of a touchy subject and more that they can't really express themselves well?? so it seems like that but isn't...)
- guy montgomery's guy-mont spelling bee (aus) s1
- roselia don't leave me, lisa!!!! (season 1 event story)
- mamimi tanaka moratorium report (p-ssr 13) 'just do whatever' as the other side of restricted freedom is so real because then half the challenge is figuring out what (and i have gone through this too many times...).
- wish upon a tanzaku (bandori season 1 event story)
- formless star very cute and short game. i like the ending message too.
- planescape torment WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!! i think this unfortunately suffered for me because of me (such as playing it on the switch for example). i wished some things were more explored more (such as the lady of pain, tno's past lives and how integrated he was in major events) but it might not be the point of it all and plus i feel like i kinda skimped on side quests/talking much to my companions than usual (and no save file to try get back to - rip) so. also i have lots of questions (such as about the transcendent one) but i don't think they're getting answered soon. i feel like maybe it's meant to be kinda vague on that front but it doesn't help that i wanna know!!! also i feel like the combat majorly suffered as well for me which i think is unfortunately because i came from dos2 which has a fun system (as opposed to basically just positioning characters and hoping they succeed in their dice rolls). but i think the concept of ps:t and the majority of the writing was very well done, i remember being so engrossed in the sensory stones, and i did like the further backstory with morte. anyways i feel like ps:t as a standalone game i played is an okay from me but an interesting one from the perspective of its place in gaming/crpg history and how much people really praise it.
- roselia umbrella for the autumn rain (season 1 event story)
- straylight.run() think it's an overall good intro to the straylight girls where i think a more obvious clash in beliefs and actions (tension?) is more prominent than in the og units.
- castle for rent very neat little vn for the evening! you could really get a sense of the characters from the short time you spend with them and they are all quite charming in their own way. i also like the plot, i feel like it was quite compact (positive) and had a nice message.
- a death in chunfen i feel like this is very typical arknights stuff in terms of substance but i found it to be more engaging than other stories.
- the raven boys finally finished after i started it in feb (...)! i think it was just as good when i read it last time so i wonder why i never moved on to the other books (which i had on hand) (i know why). i feel like the main cast has some really interesting things going on for them and are all compelling characters in their own right (although i'd say noah is less so. but i am still fond of him). i still do have a favourite, and it is very typical of me. i guess we'll see if it holds through the rest of the books but tbh i think something genuinely crazy personal has to happen for the others for that to happen...
ongoing:
- deadlock
- rhoc s20 dunno if i'm gonna watch it the whole way through but i'm at least interested to see what this franchise is all about
- spqr
- rhoa s17 we're almost finished! man i feel like it's been forever since it started lol, this is my first time following a season airing from start to finish basically. maybe i'll do a personal thoughts write-up separately later.
- hades ii think i should be able to finish it next month! kinda funny noticing melinoe's strong belief in her purpose and her family when others are like ehhh (like chronos and zagreus). i think i said this somewhere else but i also find it funny supergiant was like let's just stick around certain areas/concepts for this sequel. maybe double everything we had before and alter it a bit. bc it kinda works anyways (i feel like i don't play sequels a lot though so idk). also back on the family thing it's so crazy seeing hades like that with melinoe. he did change after all i guess. also on both of these points it's cool how the first one is zagreus running away from family (albeit to more family but y'know) and melinoe fighting for family (albeit against family but y'know). and tbh i think i prefer the premise of first game but i think if they're gonna lean in hard into melinoe learning (and processing?) more about her family's fucked up dynamics/actions i think it would be a good sequel for me. also i love when the siblings were discussing what weapon to use against chronos and zagreus is like we can use gigaros, that shit hurts. š
